Just to keep the record straight, I am not being paid for this post, I just love sharing beautiful things with all you beautiful people.

First of all, can I just say that, with all the crap people give each other about social media, I think it’s awesome! Because of social media I was able to watch an old friend of mine as she grew her yoga practice, and then was thrilled to one day see that she had decided to start her own yoga mat company, Lucent Hue Yoga. We hadn’t lived in the same place for several years, but one day she reached out and asked if I would be interested in doing a product shoot for her new company. Uh, hell yeah I was interested!Lucent Hue Yoga Mat - Tree Pose

So I made the trek to Downtown Los Angeles by myself for the first time ever, which is for the record an experience in itself. Holy traffic! But I made it. I met up with Stephanie (the owner, in blue) and 2 other beautiful yogis in this amazing old building for a super fun photoshoot with her yoga mats. I can’t even describe how fun it was. And I also can’t speak highly enough of these yoga mats!Lucent Hue Yoga Mat - Group

I had seen pictures of them online, and they are just stunningly beautiful. Each design comes from an original watercolor painting done by the owner/founder, Stephanie. She’s such a beautiful soul and that really shows in her work. But seeing them in person, was surprising. Yes, of course they’re beautiful – but what really struck me was the feeling and texture. They’re made of eco-friendly, sustainable, natural tree rubber and they have a suede-like microfiber surface that is almost fuzzy to the touch. They’re so soft. I mean like really soft. I just wanted to curl up and rub my cheek on it – is that weird? #Dontcare.Lucent Hue Yoga Mat - 8 angle

On top of being, dare I say, cozy, they’re super grippy! I gotta tell you, when you have photography lighting on you in an un-airconditioned loft, and you’re flowing through poses, you sweat. And, as much as I love my Manduka Pro mat, I definitely slip if I get really sweaty. But on this Lucent Hue mat, not only do I feel like there is plenty of support/thickness (without being squishy), but I didn’t budge at all. Glorious!

I know I can’t wait to get my own, and for those of you who want to get in on this action, you can pre-order yours at a special price through the Lucent Hue IndieGogo campaign. Be sure to act now, since there are only 7 days left in the campaign. And tell your friends 🙂
