10 Minute Meditation

Happy Valentines Day all you beautiful souls!

The hubby and I aren’t real big on Valentine’s Day – just a little too commercialized for us. So today I decided to forego the chocolates and flowers and bring you something that we all can use to feel a little brighter today – a 10 Minute Meditation.

If you’ve never meditated before then following a guided meditation is a great way to get started. Try to find a quiet, comfortable place to sit or even lay down, just try not to fall asleep. Make sure you can get comfortable, since you’ll be here for 10 minutes, but if you find you need to adjust in the middle , don’t hesitate. Meditation should be calming, not an endurance contest!

Remember that meditation isn’t so much about turning off the mind, but rather about detaching from it, watching it, observing objectively what happens in the mind. We all have a tendency to beat ourselves up when our minds begin to wander, but try not to be so hard on yourself. If you find the mind wandering, just take note, and bring back the focus to simply watching your own thoughts.
